obama makes the announcement around 11:00. >>> a big story this morning. an awall soldier admits to planning an attack on fort hood. >> he sent an e-mail saying he confessed. we're learning more about the suspect this morning and what led authorities to him. >> reporter: they are crediting clerks at a gun store of being suspicious of the suspect. he said his muslim beliefs prevented him from fighting. it was put on hold because of child porn allegations. he went aball police arrested him wednesday at a texas motel. they got a tip from an employee a day earlier that he had arrived by taxi and bought six pounds of smokeless gun powder, 3 boxes of ammunition, and a magazine for a pistol. store clerks say they felt uncomfortable about the purchases being it was a considerable amount of ammunition and the questions he asked inned kaled he didn't know much about the items. the gun store is the same location where nadal hasan purchased the gun used in the 2009 attack on fort hood when 13 people were killed. police say he also visited an army surplus store where he bought a patch. offici
